Green Machine Madness

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving.  Are you like me where you have eaten turkey for the last 4 days until all the leftovers are gone?   I do like turkey but I am ready to get back to my normal eating patterns.   All the food and festivities were so nice and I’m grateful to have spent time with family.   But I’m ready to get back to my schedule of smoothies, salads, soups and lean proteins.  To start my first Monday in December, I decided to blend up a green smoothie and thought I’d share if you’re looking to create one from scratch with real simple clean eating ingredients. Thought I’d add the Christmas paper to add some holiday cheer. :-)

This is a great way to get more fruits and veggies into your diet, and it’s a great way to transition away from processed foods.   I know the holidays are a busy time, filled with holiday shopping, parties and gatherings, so instead of reaching for a quick unhealthy snack when you are hungry and rushing in or out the door, double the recipe and keep an extra one on hand.   It will last a day in the fridge.

Here you go!  Cheers!

  • 1 cup of coconut milk, rice milk, almond or hemp milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1 handful of kale (spinach or greens)
  • 3 Tablespoons hemp seeds or 1 scoop or hemp protein (or almond butter or alternative protein)
  • Combine all ingredients in blender, blend until smooth.

Thanks for reading. ~ Vivian.
