Detox Berry Salad

I have been experimenting with RAW foods through school so thought I’d share one.  This is great for lunch but can also be eaten for dinner.   I lost 4 lbs in 3 days doing a RAW food Detox which includes eating real fresh foods, in addition it allows you to  to detox your body from processed foods, dairy, gluten and sugar.  It is a great detox salad because of the combination of foods .  Apple Cider vinegar is great for detoxing the body and good salad dressing.

As I continue to learn about clean eating, although I personally lean towards the vegan side, I still love chicken and fish.  If you can’t eat beans, just replace with a white protein of your choice, such as chicken breast (skin removed) or a white fish such as tilapia, if you are in a hurry, its fine to use canned white tuna in water.

Here’s the recipe.

  • 2 cups mixed greens
  • 3 tablespoons hemp seeds (vegan) or 4oz of white chicken or white fish
  • 1 apple cut into small pieces
  • ½ avocado
  • 1/4 cup raisins or ¼ cup goji berries
  • handful of fresh parsley

Dressing:

  • 2 tablespoons Braggs Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil juice from a lemon
  • Mix all salad ingredients in a bowl and toss with dressing.
